Long Term Locum (Associate Dentist)

Overview

We are seeking experienced, confident dentists for a Long-Term Locum role at an NHS urgent care centre in Woolston, Southampton. This position focuses on emergency dentistry, providing stabilisation and pain relief rather than comprehensive treatment, with typical daily patient numbers of 35–45 from NHS 111 referrals, walk-ins, and stabilisation cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency dentistry, stabilisation, and pain relief to patients.
• Manage 35–45 patient encounters per day from NHS 111 referrals, walk-ins, and stabilisation cases.
• Work efficiently, make quick clinical decisions, and communicate clearly with team members.
• Flexible shifts (including weekends) and contribute to achieving daily UDA targets with overachievement pay.

Qualifications

• GDC registered and hold an NHS performer number.
• Relevant emergency dentistry experience; NHS-only practice setting; team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a high-impact clinical environment.
