Role: Exam InvigilatorAcademy: Outwood Academy HaydockStart Date: November 2026Salary: £13.90 per hourWorking Pattern: Casual hours – required during peak exam periods in November, February/March and May/June.

We are looking for a conscientious, reliable individual to support the vital examination process within our academy. The role involves supervising pupils during school and external examinations to ensure all are conducted in strict accordance with legal and school requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the exam room, admit and quietly seat candidates.
  • Distribute and collect exam papers securely.
  • Maintain efficient time‑keeping during examinations.
  • Deal calmly with minor behaviour issues and be prepared to escort candidates in an emergency.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all legal and school regulations throughout the examination process.

Qualifications

  • Reliable, conscientious and flexible.
  • Good standard of education (prior school experience welcome but not essential).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, calm and self‑confident demeanour.
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality/data protection required.
  • Good organisational standards.
