Aircraft Maintenance (Avionics) Lecturer

Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £32,028 £42,109 per annum

An ambitious and industry-focused college in Tyne and Wear with a strong reputation for technical and vocational education is looking to appoint an Aircraft Maintenance (Avionics) Lecturer to join its specialist Aviation Academy.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced aviation maintenance professional or existing lecturer to help shape the next generation of aircraft maintenance engineers within a well-equipped and forward-thinking training environment.

The Role

You will deliver and assess high-quality learning programmes across Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Avionics) courses at further and higher education levels. You ll support learners to develop the technical knowledge and hands‑on practical skills needed for successful careers within the aviation industry.

The role will also involve:

  • Delivering engaging theory and practical sessions in avionics and aircraft electrical systems
  • Supporting learners with industry-relevant skills development
  • Undertaking programme leadership responsibilities
  • Contributing to curriculum planning, administration, quality assurance, and continuous improvement activities
  • Promoting high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement

What We re Looking For

  • Strong professional or vocational experience within aircraft electrical and avionics systems maintenance
  • Experience working within commercial or military aviation environments
  • Ideally worked within a Part-145 or Part-147 maintenance or training environment
  • Practical expertise in avionics diagnostics, fault finding, system testing, and installation
  • A good understanding of aviation maintenance engineering principles and industry standards
  • Knowledge of the CAA Part-66 Aircraft Maintenance Licensing framework would be advantageous
  • The ability to translate industry experience into engaging and effective teaching
