The Role

As a SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in enabling pupils with special educational needs to achieve their full potential. Working closely with therapists, support staff and families, you will deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.

  • Plan and deliver high‑quality, structured lessons
  • Differentiate learning to meet a wide range of SEND and SEMH needs
  • Monitor, assess and track pupil progress effectively
  • Create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well‑being
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
  • Contribute positively to whole‑school development initiatives
  • Support pupils in achieving academic, social and personal success

Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree‑level qualification
  • Experience teaching in a primary, secondary or specialist setting
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues

Desirable

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH
  • Knowledge of AQA, ASDAN, BTEC and GCSE pathways
  • Experience delivering Entry Level English and Maths
  • Knowledge of subjects including Science, PE, Geography, Art, Design Technology, IT, History, Music or Modern Foreign Languages
  • Strong ICT skills to support learning and assessment
