Elm Tree Bank Support Worker

Elm Tree is recruiting a Bank Support Worker at Elm Tree House in Keynsham, near Bristol. We offer residential support for eight males and females who are autistic or have a learning disability, including people who are deaf. Our service is located in a suburban area close to the countryside.

What you’ll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team committed to resident wellbeing. You will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will act with professional behaviour, adhering to policies and procedures, and contribute to maintaining safety, security and confidentiality standards. You will support individual service users in planning goals and personal outcomes, ensuring comprehensive documentation and review. The role holder should have a flexible and innovative approach to work, facilitating and supporting service users in decision‑making, promoting choice and involvement at all times. You should present the service positively and proactively suggest improvements.

What you’ll bring to the role

Resilience is key as our work is rewarding but challenging. Your natural empathy will help support others through highs and lows. You should hold or be able to attain within six months:

  • NVQ2 in Health & Social Care or a related area, or an equivalent or higher recognised qualification.
  • GCSE or NVQ2 in English and Maths.

Experience of working in a related environment is desirable.
