Job Title: Support Worker (Prader-Willi Syndrome)
Location: Troon, North Ayrshire
Pay Rate: £12.60 per hour
Hours: Flexible – to be discussed at interview
Job Reference: IOSB/Troon
We are looking for an energetic and compassionate Support Worker to assist a young person with Prader‑Willi syndrome. The role involves keeping her engaged and active, as her focus is often on food. Your support will help her stay busy, build confidence, and enjoy a fulfilling routine while also providing her parents with some well‑earned respite.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and participate in a variety of activities that minimise exposure to food, such as outdoor walks, gym sessions, music events, and social outings.
- Encourage and support regular movement while being mindful of muscle weakness, ensuring she has enough rest breaks when needed.
- Provide companionship and motivation to help maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.
- Adapt activities to her needs and interests, ensuring they are enjoyable and engaging.
- Be patient, understanding, and supportive in managing challenges related to Prader‑Willi syndrome.
- Promote independence while offering reassurance and encouragement.
What We’re Looking For
- A friendly, energetic, and patient person who enjoys being active and out and about.
- Someone who loves the outdoors, music, and social activities.
- A good understanding of or willingness to learn about Prader‑Willi syndrome.
- Experience in a support or care role is beneficial but not essential – the right attitude is most important.
- A calm and positive approach, with the ability to offer encouragement and support.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable but not required.
If you are enthusiastic about making a difference and think you’d be a great fit for this role, we’d love to hear from you!

There is 5.6 weeks A/L attached to the post. Of which you may be asked to use 2 weeks at the same time as the employer. If the person you support receives traditional respite, then your A/L may have to be taken at this time. Please discuss at interview.
There is also a 6‑month probationary period with a 1 week’s notice within this time, if the post does not work out.
Successful applicants will have to undergo a new or update of the PVG disclosure scheme prior to appointment and supply 2 up to date reference contacts, one of which should be a current or previous employer.
PLEASE NOTE AILN IS NOT THE EMPLOYER; WE ARE A SUPPORT & PAYROLL SERVICE TO INDIVIDUAL PEOPLE THAT EMPLOY THEIR OWN STAFF.
