Hartfields Manor is an extra care community which consists of self-contained properties with residents who are able to choose whether to eat in the restaurant, in their own homes or elsewhere.

About the role

As a motivated and fully engaged member of the wider Care Services team, the Food Service Assistant is responsible for the efficient and timely service of food to residents and customers in Hartfields Manor, supporting the delivery of an excellent food and customer‑focus service whilst adhering to the highest food safety standards.

You’ll assist in the low‑skilled preparation of food and support with the service of food, delivery of meals and working at the counter serving customers in an organised and timely manner. You’ll get to know the residents’ preferences and ensure that they are always available and keep the pantries stocked. You’ll liaise with both the catering and care management teams to ensure good communication.

You’ll take care to always be helpful and friendly, help clean the tables after service and adopt a ‘clean as you go’ work ethic, fully stocking the small kitchens, taking fridge temperatures, cleaning kitchen fridges and keeping kitchens clean and tidy.

About you

We’d like our Food Service Assistant to have relevant customer service experience in a commercial catering operation and have experience of following Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures. Adhering to the highest standards of due diligence, you’ll have working knowledge of Food Safety regulations.

You’ll be able to work positively with residents and colleagues from diverse backgrounds and have demonstratable interpersonal and oral communication skills.
