Working Pattern

Full-time, 4 year fixed term position on Crick terms and conditions of employment.

About the Laboratory

The Dr Vinuesa’s laboratory focuses on understanding protective antibody responses and mechanisms underpinning antibody‑mediated diseases, targeting autoimmune and allergic diseases.

Project

The role studies triggers of TLR7 signalling in autoimmunity using a mouse model with a rare TLR7 gain‑of‑function variant.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake own research project and independently design and perform experiments on triggers of TLR7 signalling.
  • Manage mouse colony and conduct in‑vivo experiments.
  • Conduct single‑cell BCR‑seq and clonal analysis via bioinformatic pipelines.
  • Provide scientific and technical support to group members.
  • Manage data, analyse, write manuscripts.
  • Present at scientific meetings.
  • Guide PhDs in research.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Immunology or final stages of PhD submission.*
  • Experience in mouse models of immunology (vaccination, allergy, autoimmunity).
  • Experience with mouse husbandry, sampling, and processing.
  • Expertise in B cell biology including germinal centre responses, plasma cell biology, class switch recombination, somatic hypermutation.
  • Experience in BCR sequencing and clonal analysis.
  • Experience in mucosal immunology and mucosal B cell responses.
  • Strong track record of high‑quality research with first author publications in peer‑reviewed journals.
