The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments within the Accounting & Finance department. This role requires strong attention to detail and organisational skills to support the smooth operation of accounts payable functions.

Description

  • Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate coding and data entry into the accounting system.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
  • Prepare and process payment runs in accordance with company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers to address queries and provide payment updates.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and update internal systems as required.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including reporting and reconciliations.
  • Support the Accounting & Finance team with ad hoc administrative tasks and projects.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies at all times.

A Successful Accounts Payable Clerk Should Have

  • Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar finance-related role.
  • A strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial records.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
