Healthcare Assistant – Calderdale
Location and Hours
Role: Hospice Care at Home Overnight Service – Calderdale (Halifax, Holmfirth, Huddersfield, Mirfield and surrounding areas)
Hours: Part‑time – 36 hours per week, 9‑hour night shifts (10:00 pm to 7:00 am)
Salary: AFC Band 2 – £24,465 per annum + pro‑rata enhancements

Key Responsibilities
- Support patients with life‑limiting illness and their families during night shifts.
- Carry out a range of care duties: assisting with hygiene, monitoring symptoms, supporting medication administration and keeping detailed records.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
- Work independently, using your own initiative while following the patient’s established care plan.
Job Requirements
- Relevant community experience.
- S/NVQ Level 2/3 qualification or equivalent certificate/diploma.
- Emotional strength and the ability to work independently (with ongoing training and support).
- Recent experience of caring for people with life‑limiting illness or palliative care needs.
- UK‑licensed driver with access to a car and business insurance.
