Class 1 Driver

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Class 1 Driver role based in Newcastle. The Class 1 Driver will operate articulated trucks safely and efficiently to deliver goods to customers and distribution points on scheduled routes. Responsibilities include completing pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections, securing loads, and adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies. The role involves maintaining accurate delivery documentation, reporting any vehicle or route issues promptly, and coordinating with dispatch and warehouse teams. The driver will also represent KMC professionally with customers, ensuring courteous communication and handling of any delivery queries or issues.

Qualifications

• Proficient truck driving skills, including safe operation of articulated trucks and adherence to transport regulations.
• Valid Class 1 license with a clean driving record.
• Strong communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and the public.
• Good awareness of vehicle safety, load securing practices, and basic truck maintenance checks.
• Ability to follow route plans, manage time effectively, and complete deliveries within set schedules.
• Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Previous experience in logistics, distribution, or temperature‑controlled transport is an asset.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early starts, Over nights evenings, or weekends as operationally required.
