About the Role
I am a lady in my 80s who has Alzheimer’s, type 2 diabetes and is non‑verbal. I live with my husband and my daughter lives nearby. I have a dedicated team of personal assistants, but I need additional support to manage my daily living needs.
The role requires 24‑hour support around the clock. Tasks include personal care, continence care, administering medication, basic household tasks, and nutrition and hydration.
Support must help with times for meals and drinks, assist with continence care, and have experience with moving and handling as I am unable to assist with changing. Observing skin integrity and maintaining it is essential.
Professionalism, integrity, trustworthiness and a friendly, open and reassuring attitude are key. The support worker should be able to build a person‑centred relationship and offer companionship.
About You
Ideal candidates understand my medical conditions and can provide emotional support. I enjoy watching TV and would like someone who can engage in my social life. Enthusiasm, energy, professionalism, respect for my home, good standard of English, initiative and willingness to go the extra mile are required. Experience in similar roles is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided.
