Hours: 6am Starts | Mon-Tues (Double) & Wed-Fri (Drop & Swap)
About the Role
We are recruiting reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join our logistics team in Wakefield. This role involves trunking, depot-to-depot runs, and general haulage work, with minimal manual handling. You’ll be operating modern, well-maintained vehicles and representing the company professionally at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate a Class 1 (C+E) vehicle in line with UK driving regulations.
Complete trunking runs, depot deliveries, and collections as scheduled.
Ensure accurate completion of all paperwork, including delivery notes and driver logs.
Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
Maintain excellent communication with transport planners and warehouse staff.
Adhere to Tachograph, Drivers’ Hours, and Working Time Directive regulations.
Ensure goods are transported securely and arrive on time.
Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at customer sites.
Requirements
Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) licence.
Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
Minimum of 6 months Class 1 driving experience (preferred, not always essential).
Good understanding of driving laws and safety standards.
Strong communication, reliability, and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and follow scheduled routes.
