At Balfour Beatty, our work shapes the future of infrastructure—delivering smarter, safer and more sustainable solutions. As part of our Asset & Technology Solutions team, we’re looking for a Commercial Assistant to join us on the prestigious Old Oak Common Project.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your Quantity Surveying career within a supportive and fast‑paced environment, contributing to a high‑profile project while gaining valuable commercial experience.

What you’ll be doing

As a Commercial Assistant, you’ll support the Quantity Surveyor in the day‑to‑day commercial administration of temporary site services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and producing documentation to support monthly applications for payment
  • Supporting operations and procurement teams with commercial data for new opportunity submissions
  • Assisting with the preparation of month‑end accounts
  • Raising purchase orders and managing timesheet administration
  • Requesting and collating quotations and information from suppliers
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting document control activities

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for an organised and proactive individual who is eager to build a career within the commercial function. You’ll bring:

  • Good IT skills, with confidence using Microsoft tools such as Excel, SharePoint and Teams
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
  • A positive, tenacious attitude and willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
