Are you a high‑achieving STEM Tutor graduate with a passion for supporting neurodivergent young people?

This STEM Tutor opportunity is perfect for an aspiring educator, psychologist or therapist seeking hands‑on SEND experience. A highly regarded secondary school in Barnet is searching for a dedicated STEM Tutor to join its Additional Resource Provision. As a STEM Tutor, you will support autistic students with their academic and personal development, while gaining invaluable experience.

This STEM Tutor role is ideal for someone with a strong Maths and Science background who is passionate about helping neurodivergent young people thrive.

The Role | STEM Tutor

  • Work as a STEM Tutor supporting students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), including those with PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profiles.
  • Deliver 1:1 and small‑group Maths and Science interventions.
  • Adapt learning strategies to meet individual needs and promote engagement.
  • Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, independence, and progress.
  • Collaborate with specialist SEND staff, teachers, and families.

STEM Tutor | Requirements

  • A degree in a STEM‑related subject from a leading university.
  • Strong A‑Level results, ideally A* or A in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or a related STEM discipline.
  • A genuine interest in autism, neurodiversity and SEND.
  • Patient, kind, and emotionally intelligent, with a calm and nurturing approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
