Senior Highways Maintenance Technician

Worcestershire County Council is looking for two Senior Highways Maintenance Technicians to join our South Worcestershire Design & Build Team based at Newlands Depot.

• Salary: £32,573 – £34,397 per annum
• Hours: 35 hours per week
• Location: Newlands Depot, Malvern
• Team: Design & Build South
• Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities

• Deliver highway maintenance schemes across Worcestershire.
• Plan resurfacing and patching schemes.
• Conduct site inspections and traffic management planning.
• Liaise with contractors and support emergency responses.
• Assist in delivering improvement works and specialist programmes such as surface dressing.
• Engage with engineers, depot colleagues, and term‑service contractor to move schemes from investigation through delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways maintenance or civil engineering.
• Practical problem‑solving skills and a willingness to develop technical knowledge.
• Ability to work in a supportive team environment.
