Paralegal | Leading Global Investment Manager | London | Permanent
We are working with a highly regarded global investment manager in their search for an experienced, detail-oriented Paralegal to join their Legal & Compliance function. Reporting into the senior Legal Counsel and working alongside the compliance team and legal colleagues, this is a broad and substantive role spanning corporate governance, regulatory compliance, contract management and employment law support across multiple jurisdictions.
Key responsibilities
- Corporate governance & entity management: maintain and manage corporate books and filings; coordinate board and committee meetings, prepare board packs, draft minutes and written resolutions, and maintain corporate calendars and governance trackers; support third-party KYC/CDD requests relating to non-US entities, including preparation and certification of corporate documents.
- Regulatory & compliance support: assist with regulatory filings, notifications and returns to international regulators; support the maintenance and updating of compliance manuals, policies and procedures.
- Contract & document management: assist with the drafting, review and negotiation of routine legal agreements under the supervision of qualified lawyers; coordinate the execution, notarisation and apostille of documents across multiple offices and jurisdictions.
- Employment & HR legal support: support the legal team on employment law matters including employment agreements and workplace policy documents.
- General legal team operations: maintain well-organised legal files in line with document retention policies; support data privacy compliance matters; assist with special projects such as new office openings and regulatory applications.
Profile
- Minimum 7 years’ experience as a paralegal, legal assistant or in a comparable legal support role, ideally gained within a hedge fund, asset manager, international law firm or financial services institution.
- Meaningful exposure to multi-jurisdictional legal and regulatory frameworks, with demonstrable experience in financial services regulation and the compliance lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of corporate governance and entity management across multiple geographies.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and workstreams across jurisdictions and time zones simultaneously.
- Outstanding attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication, and the highest standards of discretion and integrity.
- Proactive and resourceful, capable of working independently, anticipating issues and proposing solutions.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office and a genuine interest in utilising AI tools to enhance efficiency.
This role requires 4 days per week in the office.
