This is a permanent position based in Leyland near Preston in a very well established childrens home.This position is full time and permanent.A DBS on the update service would be a massive advantage.Preferred CriteriaNVQ level 3 in Children and Young People Or Health and Social CareMust have experience supporting young people in a residential settingPreferred CriteriaDriving LicenseSemester Recruitment Specialise in Supporting Young People ages 5-18 in supported living, semi independent accommodation and children’s residential homes.We are currently looking for Support and Youth Workers to provide ongoing support to Care Leavers in the area.Great flexibility with shifts and the rota’s.Rates from £12.75 to £15 an hour and £60 sleep depending on experience.Shifts vary from days – nights – and some full day sleepsOur client is a leading Provider of care to children and young people in the area and they are currently recruiting for Support Worker’s.Shifts are typically 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8amThis is supporting Young People aged between 5-18, you will be helping to increase their independence skills.It is essential that you have experience of working within a similar setting and preferably have completed NVQ3 Children & Young People Workforce or a similar qualification within this sector.Qualifications/ RequirementsHigh standard of general education.NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care – Children and young People (CCYP) or equivalent.Willingness to undertake further training.Current full driving licence with business Insurance preferableJob PurposeTo be responsible for the provision of Support for Vulnerable People (Service Users) for the Company.Main Duties & Responsibilities1. To assist the Young person’s allocated Social Worker in the delivery of the service.a) Provide transport/escort to the young person as directed in line with care plansb) Conduct welcome and induction for Young peoplec) Ongoing assessments of Service Users’ needsd) Provide ongoing support and monitoring of Service Userse) Assist in welfare and NHS issuesf) Preparation of reportsg) Arrange appointments with various partner agenciesh) Maintaining regular contact with young peoplei) Informing customers of support groupsj) Assist Move-On of Service UsersSome Shifts may also be 24 hours (sleepovers), great flexibility and 2-3 days a week would be full time hours.
