Description: Learning Curve Group is a growing company that has recently expanded by acquiring MPCT, bringing military academies to a total of 34 across England and Wales. As a Military Training Instructor at LCG you will provide outstanding teaching and learning throughout the L2 qualification. Your lessons will be detailed, well‑planned and engaging, motivating learners and leading them to achieve their potential.
Core Responsibilities
- Maintain up‑to‑date subject knowledge and keep lessons challenging.
- Attend annual training events such as Reserve Training Camps, Look at Life, Familiarisation Days and Assessment Centres.
- Use assessment to inform learners and systematically check learning.
- Prepare demanding lessons to realise learners’ potential.
- Deliver lessons on physical and emotional well‑being, and diverse resources.
- Identify learners falling behind, support them to catch up, and set challenging individual targets.
- Support maths and English development for all learners.
- Track work experience via the FCA in England and support learners’ engagement with MPCT partner employers.
- Assist with learner induction with the Centre Manager.
- Maintain the MIS with learner details, performance, attendance and progression.
- Carry out progress reviews to support educational development.
- Deliver physical training using the bib system and extend challenges at appropriate intensity.
- Deliver Military Training Days following the military skills portfolios scheme of work.
- Collect learner and parent feedback to improve teaching and learning.
- Attend regular training on teaching and learning.
- Provide support, advice and guidance to learners, customers and colleagues.
- Act in line with company values and behaviours.
- Promote equal opportunities and diversity.
- Comply with Safeguarding, Prevent, and Health & Safety policies.
Qualifications and Experience
- 3+ years experience in a uniformed service (Army, Navy, Air Force).
- Military or civilian physical training qualification.
- GCSE Maths & English (essential).
- Knowledge of vocational qualifications or the education sector.
- Teaching or instructing experience.
- Experience working with young people.
