Ready for take off? Join Swissport for an exciting career in aviation. This is a full-time permanent position working night shifts only. As a Cargo Warehouse Agent, you will organize warehouse and storage facilities and arrange warehouse handling equipment and load/unload air cargo. You will maintain the required safety and quality standards as well as comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and company policies. This is a 37.5-hour per week role. Shifts are rostered to start between 12:00AM and 1:30AM and finish between 8:30AM and 9:30AM. The first shift of the week typically begins at 11:59PM on Sunday, and the final shift usually ends by 9:30AM on Friday. Pay rate is £13.55 per hour (no night premium) and will be paid on a monthly basis.
Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading air cargo onto vehicles and storage areas
- Preparing and palletize cargo as needed
- Ensuring paperwork related to the cargo is correct
- Assuring proper handling and delivery of cargo and operation of related equipment
- Following Dangerous Goods Requirements and Regulations
- Delivering air cargo to appropriate recipient if required
- Providing special handling of live animals as required
- Driving and/or operate specialist equipment which may include vans, fork lift trucks, cargo dollies/trailers
- Reporting all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/manager
- Complying with all relevant legislation and airport authority and carrier security requirements
- Complying with Swissport Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Maintaining the highest standards of safety and security at all times
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A full driving licence desirable
- Flexible to work a variety of shifts (days, evening, nights, weekends, and public holidays)
- Ability to speak and understand the English language
- Ability to travel to the airport at times where public transport is not available
- Ability to follow processes and procedures and apply flexible approach when required
- Willingness to work in inclement weather
- Able to work in a manual environment and repeatedly lift up to 32kg throughout a shift
- Able to work as a team in a fast paced environment
- Previous experience working in an aviation environment desirable
