About the role
The Role
Are you an organised and motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? At GAP Hire Solutions, we’re looking for a proactive and customer-focused Logistics Administrator to join our growing Tanker Services team based at our Glasgow Head Office. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy operational environment, has a strong eye for detail, and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.
In this role, you’ll be at the centre of the operation, supporting the day-to-day coordination of tanker services across the UK. You’ll play a key role within the logistics function, helping to ensure work is allocated efficiently, customer requirements are managed professionally, and operational administration is completed accurately and on time.
The position combines administration, customer service, and operational support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and wants to develop a long-term career within a growing and supportive business.
About You
What You’ll Be Doing
You will be responsible for raising contracts, allocating work and queries to the correct planners and depots, managing invoice and customer queries, completing driver and job compliance checks, and supporting the wider operational team with accurate reporting and administration. A large part of the role will involve speaking with customers over the phone, providing updates, resolving queries, and always ensuring a professional and positive customer experience. Strong communication skills and a confident telephone manner are therefore essential.
You will also create and maintain spreadsheets, compile operational reports, and liaise with colleagues across multiple departments to ensure the smooth running of daily operations.
What We’re Looking for
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work to a high level of accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
- Previous experience and product knowledge in the transport, haulage or waste industry is highly advantageous
