Role description
We are an eyewear design studio seeking a technically driven eyewear developer to collaborate closely with our design and operations team, turning design concepts into resolved and commercially viable products.
The developer works closely with factories and suppliers to ensure the product meets the required quality, cost and timeline. Operating at pace within a fast-moving design studio, the role anticipates development bottlenecks early and proposes clear, technically sound solutions while protecting our design vision. Through meticulous organisation, clear communication and efficiency, the ideal candidate will meet the studio’s high standards.
Role requirements
Industry experience
- 3+ years of product development within eyewear
- Relationships with international factories and suppliers
Product knowledge
- Strong technical knowledge of eyewear construction, materials and manufacturing processes
- Ability to translate design into feasible products
- Reviews CADs, renderings and prototypes
- Responsible for resolving construction and material feasibility
- Ongoing innovation input
- Solution-driven
Critical path
- Responsible for managing multiple timelines concurrently
- Works at pace with dexterity
- Proactively anticipates workflow congestion or challenges
Vendor & factory management
- Builds strong working relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners
- Ability to deliver and follow clear technical briefs and development packs
- Balances technical feasibility, cost considerations and design integrity
