Key Stage Two Teacher Permanent

The Sir Donald Bailey Academy is looking toappoint an experienced and highlyskilled teacher for an Upper Pay Scale (UPS) position starting from September2026. Thesuccessful candidate will consistently demonstrate excellentclassroom practice. They will possess the skills to lead change and driveimprovements in teaching and learning across the school. Candidates will need to possessthe knowledge and skills required to secure the best possible outcomes for allpupils including those facing some disadvantage and take a major responsibilityfor an area of school improvement.

Main purpose

Thesuccessful candidate will:

• Play a leading role in school improvementlinked to identified priorities
• Lead on CPD for all staff including the inductionand mentoring of Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and student teachers,ensuring they receive high‑quality support, coaching, and professionaldevelopment.
• Act as a champion for Pupil Premiumpupils across the school, monitoring provision, supporting staff, andhelping to secure strong outcomes for disadvantaged learners.
• Take responsibility for curriculumdevelopment within identified subject(s), driving improvements incurriculum, teaching, and assessment.
• Model excellent teaching and learning,demonstrating the professional behaviours expected of a UPS teacher.
• Contribute to whole‑school developmentthrough collaboration, coaching, and strategic leadership.
• Be an experienced teacher in Upper KeyStage Two.
