- Working Pattern: Full Time
- Remote Working – travel will be required when attending meetings
Your Role
As a National Policing Insight Researcher, you’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing the Police Service’s evidence base through data analysis and research. Your contributions will help shape national strategies and provide critical insights to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Management: Oversee the flow of data returns within the police service, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Information Facilitation: Coordinate the transfer of intelligence regarding risks related to modern slavery, supporting operational effectiveness.
- Research Support: Prepare briefings and literature reviews, and analyse qualitative and quantitative information to aid strategic decision‑making.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Assist in publishing and disseminating vital information to key stakeholders across England and Wales.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other agencies and police forces to facilitate operational debriefing and enhance intervention strategies.
What We’re Looking For
- A degree‑level qualification or equivalent practical experience in research within government, policing, or public sector environments.
- Proven experience in conducting evidence‑based research and presenting findings clearly, including the use of tables, charts, and graphs.
- Strong numeracy skills with a foundational understanding of statistics.
- Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience with database management.
- The ability to draft concise reports and deliver engaging presentations tailored to various audiences.
- A collaborative spirit to work effectively within teams and across organisations.
- Previous residence within the UK continuously for at least 5 years at the time of application.
