Where you will be working

Location: St Mary’s Hospital, Floyd Drive, Warrington, Cheshire, WA2 8DB

St Mary’s Hospital provides care and support for men aged 18 years and over who require a period of specialised Level 2 mental health rehabilitation inpatient services (higher support needs) in a safe and caring environment. The hospital also offers a range of specialised services for people with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), including Level 2 ABI rehabilitation, Low Secure ABI and Medium Secure ABI services, delivered within a structured rehabilitation setting. There is also an acute service which specialises in the assessment, treatment and stabilisation of individuals in crisis or suffering from significant mental health problems.

As a Safeguarding Coordinator you will be:

  • Point of contact for support and advice within the hospital.
  • Review incidents and concerns.
  • Gather further information.
  • Review care and treatment plans.
  • Ensure interim measures are in place to prevent further harm or risk.
  • Ensure correct processes and policies are adhered to.
  • Arrange and chair a weekly Safeguarding forum.
  • Share minutes and information of the forum with the Senior Management Team.
  • Ensure actions are followed up in a timely manner.
  • Update documentation on safeguarding and care concern discussions.
  • Keep the patient up to date with processes.
  • Attend monthly Safeguarding Meeting.
  • Oversee the entire process of Safeguarding investigations and Provider Led Concerns.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Previous experience within a similar role and/or environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Plan and prioritise workload.
