Summer Playscheme Worker – Belfast

The rewards

£13.45 per hour.

Hours

25 hours per week. Temporary summer position from 29th June to 21st August (depending on location).

The role of the Summer Playscheme Worker

• Organising, supervising and leading structured play activities both on-site and off-site
• Preparing and setting up materials and resources for daily activities
• Supporting volunteers and staff to help broaden and develop the playscheme programme
• Applying best practice in line with the Playwork Code of Practice
• Adhering to Child Protection policies and procedures at all times
• Implementing all required health and safety procedures
• Participating in monitoring, evaluation and feedback processes
• Assisting with administrative and financial tasks related to the playscheme when required

The ideal Summer Playscheme Worker

• At least one year’s relevant experience in direct supervision of children or young people, planning and delivering activities, and working in a community or youth setting

Additional context

Based at Community Centres across Belfast including Olympia, Ardoyne, Cregagh Youth, Tallycarnet, Clonduff, Braniel and Knockagoney.
