Job Description:

Swift Childcare are a training provider based in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham, seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant to support learners within the virtual learning environment.

This role is ideal for an experienced Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting learners with a range of abilities and learning needs, while working alongside education professionals such as tutors, support coaches, and EPA (End-Point Assessment) leads.

You will play a key role in helping create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning experience, supporting learners both academically and personally to help them reach their full potential.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support tutors and training staff in delivering engaging learning sessions tailored to individual learner needs.
  • Work with learners on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to support literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum activities, via the virtual learning environment.
  • Provide targeted support for learners with additional needs, including SEND helping them access learning effectively.
  • Assist support coaches in promoting positive behaviour, engagement, and participation in sessions.
  • Support the preparation of learning resources and training materials.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and well-structured learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with learners to support confidence, motivation, and independence.
  • Support monitoring of learner progress and provide feedback to tutors and Success and Engagement Manager.
  • Assist EPA leads where required, supporting learners in preparation for assessments and progression.
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive learning behaviours at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people/adults in an education or training setting.
  • Experience supporting SEND learners is desirable.
  • Experience of online delivery/support is desirable.
  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, supportive, and adaptable approach.
  • Confident working independently and as part of a wider training team.
  • Passionate about supporting learner development and achievement.
  • Reliable, professional, and a positive role model.
