Part‑time Temporary Finance Assistant (Maternity Cover) – Grade 7 Term Time Only

This part‑time temporary Finance Assistant will work from 1 September 2026 to cover a maternity leave, supporting the School Business Manager with financial administration for staff and parents.

Responsibilities

  • Control the purchase ledger, carrying out all procurement, loading and authorising invoices for payment.
  • Manage petty cash and administer staff overtime claims.
  • Ensure resources are managed efficiently and effectively, securing best value and maintaining positive supplier relationships.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a finance or bookkeeping role; experience within an educational setting is desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g. SIMS, FMS, iPayImpact).
  • Ability to explain financial processes clearly to non‑finance staff and parents.
  • High level of discretion and understanding of financial data security and GDPR.
