Social Worker – Children & Family Social Care (ASYE)
We are looking to recruit highly motivated, enthusiastic, and committed professional social workers at all levels to support vulnerable children and families in Barnsley.
Job Details
- Full‑time role, 37 hours per week.
- Minimum three days a week in the office; flexible working arrangements considered where continuity of care can be maintained.
- Permanent contract.
- Salary: £37,280 – £49,282 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience, plus a welcome payment.
- Career grade depends on qualification and experience.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will involve supporting children and families by developing strong relationships, conducting assessments, applying evidence‑based interventions, and preparing timely decisions and plans to achieve positive outcomes. You will work within a strength‑based, relational model and will be part of a supportive team that encourages learning and development.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Speak English to an appropriate standard.
- Enhanced DBS check.
- Will be required to start work with all necessary legal documents, such as a valid visa. The council does not have a Home Office licence and cannot sponsor visa applicants.
- If currently living overseas or have lived overseas in the last five years, you must obtain an overseas criminal records check. Email dbs@barnsley.gov.uk if you have difficulty.
