We are currently recruiting experienced and highly motivated Bank Band 7 Specialist Wound Care Podiatrist to join our Podiatry Service. As a Bank Specialist Wound Care Podiatrist, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based assessment and management of complex foot wounds, including those associated with diabetes, vascular disease, and infection. Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across vascular, diabetes, infectious diseases, and other specialist services to ensure integrated patient care and positive clinical outcomes.

- To work as a member of an acute foot multidisciplinary team based at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.
- To provide a highly specialised wound care assessment within the outpatients, inpatients, and emergency care settings. Patients will include those with long term conditions, such as diabetes and renal disease. Patients may also be very complex with multiple co-morbidities.
- To formulate a clinical diagnosis and treatment plan as an autonomous practitioner.
- To use clinical judgement and discretion in the advanced assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex pathologies, which puts them at increased risk of amputation, morbidity and mortality.
- To provide advanced wound care techniques in their practice, including casting, negative pressure wound therapy and larval therapy.
- To work towards achieving competencies in advanced, specialised care, such as independent prescribing.
- To mentor students, and supervise, teach and appraise junior podiatrists.
- To share the responsibility for operational management of the podiatry department, participate in service development, and participate in evidence-based projects.
