The Role

We’re looking for a proactive and driven Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects, from residential installations to large‑scale commercial developments and ongoing maintenance services. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be at the heart of operations, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget. As a key leader in the business, you’ll oversee the project management team, providing guidance and support while ensuring seamless collaboration between internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders. You’ll also step in to support aspects of the Operations Manager role when required. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment and has the drive to take ownership, lead with confidence, and continuously develop their expertise in the renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage the end‑to‑end delivery of renewable energy projects.
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee a portfolio of projects across solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging.
  • Team Management & Development: Manage and develop the project management team, providing structure, support, and accountability.
  • Coordination & Delivery: Coordinate internal teams and subcontractors to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Programme & Cost Control: Drive programme timelines, cost management, and quality control across all projects.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify and resolve risks, delays, and operational challenges.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure full compliance with health & safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and delivery partners.
  • Operational Improvement: Support operational strategy by improving processes and delivery efficiency.
  • Workforce Growth: Contribute to scaling and strengthening the direct workforce model.

What we’re looking for

  • Senior Project Management Experience: Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager within renewable energy or construction, M&E, or electrical projects.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Strong leadership experience managing teams and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • End‑to‑End Delivery: Experience delivering projects from initial sale through to commissioning and handover.
  • Commercial Awareness: Strong understanding of cost control, margins, and programme delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent ability to manage relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Organisation & Problem Solving: Highly organised with strong problem‑solving capabilities to manage complex project challenges.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
  • Systems & Reporting: Experience using project management systems and reporting tools.

Extra Credit

  • Renewable Technology Experience: Experience with solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging systems.
  • Technical Background: Electrical or technically qualified background with a strong understanding of installation and systems.
  • Subcontractor Management: Experience managing subcontractor-heavy delivery models effectively.
  • Operational Scaling & Improvement: Exposure to scaling operations and improving delivery processes.
