Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Mobile Electrical Testing Engineer to join a leading Facilities Management provider, supporting a portfolio of critical commercial and industrial sites across the Manchester area.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical inspection, testing, fault finding, and remedial works on LV distribution, final circuits, lighting, power, and HVAC systems
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with SFG20, BS7671, and industry best practices
  • Respond to critical electrical faults and safety issues to minimise downtime
  • Conduct Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), inspections, and testing in accordance with current regulations
  • Prepare site surveys, risk assessments, and method statements for planned works
  • Maintain accurate service reports, certification, and maintenance records
  • Liaise with customers, subcontractors, and engineering teams to ensure excellent service delivery
  • Identify opportunities to improve system performance and maintenance processes
  • Work safely while following all Health & Safety and electrical safety procedures

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds Levels 1, 2 & 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) Inspection & Testing qualification
  • Experience carrying out electrical testing, inspection, and fault finding within commercial, industrial, or critical environments
  • Strong understanding of LV electrical distribution systems
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and O&M manuals
  • Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Desirable: experience working within Facilities Management or industrial environments
  • Desirable: knowledge of power system coordination and industrial electrical infrastructure
  • Desirable: experience preparing technical documentation including RAMS and work requests
