Job Description:

DeepOcean Europe Middle East & Africa (EMEA) require a Project Manager. The selected Project Manager will be responsible for creating delivery excellence across assigned project(s), providing certainty and confidence to key stakeholders and ensuring assigned project(s) objectives are met. This includes leading, guiding and developing multi-disciplinary project teams, championing high quality delivery, and promoting a focus on health and safety.

Typical projects include Survey, IMR, Decommissioning and Light Construction types, with both lumpsum and reimbursable delivery elements in key locations throughout EMEA Region. Experience of operations in the Middle East & Africa locations is desirable.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • The Project Manager is responsible for delivery of assigned projects within the DeepOcean EMEA Region. The Project Manager is accountable for project performance and delivery of all phases of the assigned projects in line with organisational processes and with due consideration for safety and occupational health of personnel, the environment and assets.

ROLE SPECIFIC

  • Project P&L accountability including revenue delivery, margin and overhead management, budget and forecast determination and attainment, risk and opportunity reviews, cost controls, accounts payable/billing and cash collection.
  • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the key stakeholders, project team and customer.
  • Ensure projects are completed within budget, on schedule, while meeting clients’ needs, business objectives and HSEQS requirements.
  • Act as a project focal point for project team and support in project delivery of all phases
  • Identification of key project optimizations and variations
  • Support in commercial processes for key tenders and commercial proposals through determining project requirements, scope, resources, programme, and cost estimates (budgets) for delivering the project.

KEY TASKS

  • Take active responsibility for project HSEQS performance and maintain focus on key areas such as improvement opportunities and lagging events.
  • Ensure compliance to the organisational Project Model and applicable processes within BMS.
  • Maintain Project Reporting requirements internally and externally and Prepare for and participate in Monthly Project Reviews (MPR).
  • Contribute towards optimum vessel scheduling within projects and towards adjacent projects for Project team, Asset and Vessel utilisation.
  • Establishment and monitoring of Project Execution methodology and ensure that each project organisation is capable of handling the projects’ tasks.
  • Be DeepOcean representative and single point of contact in active contracts and liaise with Client representative accordingly.
  • Actively pursue additional business with Clients and operational networks.
  • Perform worksite and vessel visits when feasible to provide Project Management involvement and support to ongoing operations.
  • Prepare project/contract input to budgets.
  • Approve projects’ costs as applicable and within given mandate.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in projects and support lessons learned and knowledge transfer processes internally and externally.
  • Report any project concerns that may require focus outside project to Projects and Operations Director in order to seek solutions.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS SPECIFIC TO THE ROLE

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree of other relevant education

Desirable Qualifications or Equivalent Experience:

  • Project Management Institute Membership
  • Qualification/certification or working towards qualification/certification at professional level, for example PRINCE2, APM PMQ (APMP) or RPP, PMP is desirable.

DEMONSTRABLE EXPERIENCE SPECIFIC TO THE ROLE

  • 12+ years in industry related role
  • Demonstrable experience and success as an unsupervised manager within Projects and an appropriate level of tertiary education in a business management and or engineering discipline is preferable.
  • International experience managing projects in Africa and the Middle East is desirable.
  • Operational experience: Engineering, survey, inspection or Offshore Manager.
  • Commercial experience: Tender participation or Tender Manager

REPORTING TO

  • Projects & Operations Director

RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • No Direct Reports, operational reports within project specific organisation. Typically, Engineers, HSEQS, Survey & Inspection discipline, SCM, Cost Control, Commercial, Legal and others as established in project.
