Job Description

Do you have a talent for creating supportive and successful teams bringing together practitioners from different backgrounds?

Are you keen to be part of a new and innovative service to make a difference for families?

Are you a qualified social worker with the ability to create and lead relationship‑based practice?

We have introduced our new family help pods as part of our Families First Transformation. The family help pods will provide family help and social work support to families, providing this support as early as possible to help prevent families’ challenges escalating. We are looking for managers who can lead these teams, bringing together key workers and social workers to create new pods that provide robust support to communities in the city.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a small pod team of social workers and key workers, supporting families receiving family help (targeted early help and child in need), child protection plans and children in care.
  • Provide regular supervision and oversight of pod work.
  • Analyse the needs of a range of families in terms of support and risk and provide oversight of plans that meet these needs.
  • Create excellent practice and work strategically across the multi‑agency system.
  • Lead the pod within one of our Best Start Family Hubs, serving the community in one of four areas in the city.
  • Support the development of practitioners to build purposeful relationships with families, prioritising trauma‑informed, relationship‑based practice.

Qualifications

Qualified social worker with the ability to create and lead relationship‑based practice.

Benefits

We are pleased to offer a wide range of benefits to support you and your wellbeing. You can read about them on our “Why work for us” pages.
