About the role
The Information Governance Officer supports the work of the Data Protection, Information Access and Complaints team within the Legal team. The role involves handling and responding to requests under UK GDPR, DPA 2018, FOIA, EIR and re‑use requests, ensuring timely and compliant outcomes and supporting staff on policies and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to information requests (UK GDPR, DPA 2018, FOIA, EIR) and re‑use requests.
- Log, acknowledge, consider and respond to requests ensuring timely, accurate and compliant outcomes.
- Provide updates on progress and signpost staff to relevant policies and processes.
- Advise regulator staff on compliance with policies and legislation.
- Maintain the regulator’s publication scheme and support staff by monitoring completion of mandatory data‑protection training.
About you
You are self‑motivated, approachable, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, keen to develop existing skills in information access, data protection and complaints work. You have experience of responding to or assisting with information requests and understand strict deadlines.

- Organised, able to prioritise, manage deadlines and a varied workload.

- Knowledge of UK GDPR, DPA 2018, FOIA, EIR and related legislation.

Location
The role can be based at any RSH core office: Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham or Bristol (B2 4BH). Offices in Manchester and Bristol will relocate during 2025/26, remaining in city centre. Travel within England between offices and onsite visits to social housing providers may be required.
