Role Description
The 8a Advanced Critical Care Practitioner will work full-time on site in Birmingham, serving as a key member of the critical care team. This role involves managing patients with complex needs in critical care settings, performing advanced clinical assessments, developing care plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions. The practitioner will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care and support junior medical staff and trainees. The role also includes contributing to continuous quality improvement, staff development, and compliance with clinical governance processes.
Qualifications
- Advanced clinical assessment, decision-making, and diagnostic skills for critical care settings
- Experience in developing and implementing patient-centered care plans using evidence-based practices
- Excellent communication, team collaboration, and mentorship skills for working within multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of compliance with clinical governance standards and quality improvement initiatives
- Formal postgraduate qualification relevant to advanced clinical practice
- HCPC or NMC registration and eligibility to practice in the UK
- Experience in teaching, supervision, or contributing to professional development of staff
- Desirable: Previous experience in trauma care, surgical critical care, or other specialist areas offered by UHB
