SP247082 – Healthcare Support Worker – Vaccinators

Overview

We are recruiting Band 3 Vaccinators for the Aberdeen City vaccination programme for a fixed‑term period until the end of December 2026, including work in vaccination centres, outlying city community clinics and schools. Successful candidates may also be required to assist in other areas.

Responsibilities

• Administer vaccinations safely and effectively according to national policies.
• Complete phlebotomy competency requirements and achieve Associate vaccinator competencies within the first month.
• Provide a high standard of care and maintain excellent communication with a diverse range of people.
• Work independently and as an active team player, managing time effectively.

Qualifications

• Completed relevant phlebotomy competencies.
• Willing to undertake further training on the administration of different vaccines and in the whole vaccination programme for all ages.
• Preferably completed the PEIP for HCSW vaccinators course.
• Good time‑management, teamwork, initiative, open friendly manner and excellent communication skills.

Working Hours

Full‑time (36 hrs) preferred; part‑time (minimum 2 days) considered. Working days may be over 6 days.
