The Gables in Hagley, near Stourbridge is a luxury 61‑bedded residential and dementia care home. We have an opportunity for a Wellbeing & Lifestyle Assistant to join our team on an ‘as and when’ basis to cover annual leave and ad hoc sickness. Rotas are worked out in advance so you will be given notice of days or weeks to be covered.
Working very closely with our Wellbeing & Lifestyle Lead, the Wellbeing & Lifestyle Assistant role is a hands‑on working role with responsibility for coordinating a successful activities and volunteer programme within the home. This includes internal and external communication about activities‑focused programmes for our residents and introducing appropriate activities for older people which support independence and identifying activities in the surrounding areas that will assist residents to integrate into the local community.

Main Responsibilities
- Organise and conduct activities that encourage both social, mental and, where appropriate, physical stimulation for residents within the home.
- Help organise fundraising events.
- Help organise special events such as Christmas entertainment, Ascot, Royal occasions, etc.
- Produce a monthly programme of events to discuss with the general manager of the home.
- Encourage residents and team members to participate in the home’s activities programme.
- Maintain posters and notice boards within the home.
Person Specification
- Compassionate and caring nature.
- Ability to organise activities.
- Outgoing and fun to be around.
- IT literacy – competent with the use of systems.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English.
