In this active role, you’ll inspect and repair trade waste bins, including fitting lids and wheels, carrying out cleaning, and performing basic welding (training provided). You’ll use power tools and load/unload bins with a forklift (if qualified). You’ll also help keep the workshop tidy, follow health and safety procedures, and work well both independently and as part of a small, friendly team.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, and maintain trade waste bins to company standards, including replacing lids, wheels, and other parts.
- Carry out regular washing and cleaning of various sized wheeled containers.
- Use power tools and equipment safely and correctly to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Perform basic welding tasks where required (training can be provided).
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop and yard area through good housekeeping practices.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines, working safely in a physically demanding role.
- Work well independently and as part of a small, hands‑on maintenance team.
- Be flexible, self‑motivated, and able to follow both verbal and written instructions accurately.
Qualifications
- Previous experience within a workshop environment.
- Previous experience of working in a production‑targeted environment.
- Previous experience of using air tools and power tools in a workshop environment.
