Council has a critical role in providing the stability, assurance and strategic oversight required to translate ambition into sustained impact.
As part of this next phase, the University is seeking to appoint an outstanding Chair of Council. Working in partnership with the Vice‑Chancellor and Executive team, the Chair will lead the governing body, providing effective oversight, constructive challenge and collective responsibility for the long‑term success of the institution. Through their personal influence and ambassadorial skills, the Chair will also support the University’s external profile, partnerships and reputation.
We are seeking an individual of high calibre with the intellectual capacity, strategic judgement and commercial acumen to chair a large and complex organisation. Proven experience of operating at board level, ideally as a Chair or senior non‑executive will be essential, alongside the credibility and interpersonal skills required to build strong, trusted relationships and uphold the distinction between governance and executive leadership. xwzovoh The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of sustainable governance in a regulated environment, a demonstrable commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and an empathy with Salford’s values, culture and communities.
