We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our Core Services team, working on the services and shared capabilities that underpin key customer and business journeys across Royal London.
You’ll have a strong grounding in software engineering and experience delivering high quality solutions within an enterprise environment. Our Core Services landscape includes shared enterprise services such as Address, Bank, Customer, Financial Crime integrations, and Golden Record, so you’ll work across a variety of systems and APIs that support the wider business.
You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, testers and analysts to design, build, test and support robust services that are reliable, secure, and aligned to our engineering standards.
You’ll join a supportive, growing team where you can develop your technical skills, contribute to evolving shared services, and work on meaningful technology that benefits the whole organisation.
About The Role
- Develop and enhance shared services and integration components within the Core Services stack.
- Contribute to solution design, ensuring changes are welldesigned, secure and sustainable.
- Write clean, welltested code that aligns with engineering standards and quality controls.
- Support safe deployment and release processes across environments.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Help maintain stable core services used across multiple business units.
About You
- Experience in C#/.NET or similar enterprise-grade development technology
- Understanding of modern software engineering practices and the full SDLC
- Experience working in agile delivery teams
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn, grow and contribute
- Strong operational understanding & experience
- Experience in any of the following would be beneficial: – API design and integration – SQL Server – Azure services – Event-driven architecture – Azure DevOps pipelines and CI/CD – Java or Angular exposure
