Overview
We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer – Equipment & Systems to take ownership of manufacturing equipment, facility readiness, and supporting systems within our pilot manufacturing operation. Based at our London site, this is a primarily on-site, hands-on role.
You will be responsible for ensuring equipment is available, reliable, and suitable for manufacturing, while establishing the structures required to support maintenance, calibration, and safe operation.
In the early phase, this role will include active participation in manufacturing activities on the production line, ensuring equipment and facility requirements are aligned with real operational conditions.
Responsibilities
- Own manufacturing equipment performance, availability, and readiness
- Establish and manage calibration programmes for relevant equipment
- Define and implement preventive maintenance approaches
- Lead equipment breakdown response and recovery
- Maintain high levels of equipment uptime to support production
- Manage equipment status visibility (e.g. calibration, maintenance)
- Maintain critical spare parts for key equipment
- Support facility readiness, including layout and basic infrastructure
- Work with external consultants to support EHS implementation and compliance
- Ensure equipment and environment support controlled manufacturing
- Work closely with Process Engineering and Operations to resolve equipment-related issues
- Participate in manufacturing activities during early pilot phases
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Experience working with manufacturing equipment in a technical environment
- Strong understanding of maintenance, calibration, and equipment reliability
- Practical, hands-on problem-solving ability
- Experience working in structured or regulated environments
- Ability to work cross-functionally
Desirable
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g. medical devices, biotech, pharmaceuticals)
- Experience establishing maintenance or calibration systems
- Experience supporting pilot or early-stage manufacturing environments
- Experience working with external contractors or service providers
- Familiarity with health and safety requirements in technical environments
This is a hands-on role within an early-stage manufacturing team, where you will help build and refine processes based on real operational experience. You will play a key part in establishing robust, scalable systems that will underpin future manufacturing capability.
