Are you a highly organised professional who can lead capital programme governance and assurance to deliver for residents?

Firmly placing York on the global stage, with capital schemes designed to attract investment in a city primed for growth, our major capital programme will deliver the strategic ambitions that make a material difference to resident’s lives, both across the city and beyond.

With a major capital programme of over £500m, and set to increase over the years ahead, we urgently need to put in place a strong and supportive programme management office to provide oversight, structure and clarity across a complex portfolio of major capital programmes.

Who You Are

We need an expert to lead and coordinate the governance and administration of our major capital programme management office, setting a supportive environment with strong governance, effective assurance and robust reporting that helps the council deliver capital schemes that delivers for residents.

We are looking for a confident, detail-focused professional, who has strong experience of public sector capital programmes, operating within a complex organisation programme at pace. You will bring a clear understanding of project governance, public procurement and statutory compliance, together with excellent organisation and stakeholder engagement skills, maintaining accuracy under pressure.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
