(Senior) Electronic Systems Engineer
Location: St Asaph, UK
Length: 6 months (possibility for permanent employment after the contract)
Security Clearance: SC (or ability to obtain)

Purpose of Role
The (Senior) Electronic Systems Engineer will design, integrate, and validate vehicle-mounted electro-optical systems used in for defence applications.
Main Responsibilities
– Define system architecture (block diagrams, interfaces, power distribution)
– Translate requirements into system specifications and documentation (e.g. ICDs)
– Integrate vehicle power systems
– Design and integrate video systems (thermal/daylight cameras, display pipelines)
– Integrate data buses (CAN, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet, RS-422/485)
– Support system integration, testing, and validation (bench, vehicle, field)
– Ensure compliance with EMC and environmental standards (e.g. MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810)
– Support design reviews, risk management, and issue resolution across the lifecycle
Essential Skills
– Strong system design and integration skills (hardware + interfaces)
– Experience with vehicle electrical systems
– Knowledge of data buses (CAN, Ethernet, 1553, RS-485)
– Understanding of video/data integration (cameras, displays, signal formats)
– EMC knowledge (grounding, shielding, filtering principles)
– Experience with requirements management tools (e.g. IBM DOORS)
– Familiarity with structured systems engineering processes (e.g. ISO 15288)
