We’re looking for a skilled Java Developer to join an exciting project for a leading organisation. This is a 6-month contract role, inside IR35, with a hybrid setup based in London – ideal for someone who thrives in collaborative environments and enjoys solving complex engineering challenges.
What you’ll be doing:
- Designing, building, and testing modern microservices using Docker and Kubernetes
- Collaborating with other developers, contributing to a strong knowledge-sharing culture
- Mentoring junior developers and helping shape internal training initiatives
- Developing scalable, maintainable applications that support agile, cross-functional teams
- Supporting and evolving best practices around software delivery and engineering standards
What you’ll bring:
- Strong hands-on experience with Java development
- Solid experience with Kafka, MQTT (IoT), and working with APIs
- Familiarity with build/configuration tools like Jenkins, Maven, and Gradle
- Experience with TDD, BDD, pair programming, and agile methodologies (XP, Scrum)
- Understanding of SOLID principles, design patterns, and event-driven architecture
- Monitoring and observability skills with tools like Prometheus and Grafana
