The Associate Director of Data and Digital Transformation will shape a vision for Digital, Data and Technology as strategic enablers of impact. Working with teams across the charity, you will support sustainable services for young people with cancer, increase audience reach, drive sustainable income generation and demonstrate impact. You will influence horizontally, organise people and deliver value rapidly through product ways of working. A hands‑on, delivery‑focused leader, you will design, prioritise and deliver practical solutions, develop teams and embed a service‑oriented, user‑centred approach across the charity. The role will shape the future of DDaT, oversee a largely outsourced technology function, uplift data maturity, and ensure digital and technology services enable our mission. This position is part of the Senior Leadership Team and works collaboratively with colleagues across Services, Engagement and Central Support teams.
What We’re Looking For
We seek a creative, energetic, product‑mindful leader to help Teenage Cancer Trust repurpose digital and data toward service impact. This is not a traditional DDaT director role; you will cross‑functional teams, illuminate the value of data, build confidence and link technology potential to measurable outcomes.

- Credible technical knowledge and up‑to‑date understanding of developments in technology.
- Deep experience working effectively with other professions and leaders as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.

- Demonstrable experience of developing DDaT teams and digital/data capabilities across an organisation, ideally in a charity or public‑service context.
- A track record of improving data maturity and operational use of data and insight.
- Hands‑on delivery experience and comfort rolling up sleeves to make practical improvements.
Skills & Attributes
- Trust‑building people‑person who collaborates naturally.
- Pragmatic, grounded and solutions‑focused, turning ideas into tangible outcomes.
- Ability to support teams with limited digital or data experience and guide them through a development journey.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and capable of setting clear direction in evolving environments.
- Strong service mindset with an understanding of co‑design principles and agile ways of working.
