Lead Software Engineer

We have partnered with a global leader in the music industry, looking for an experienced Technical Lead for a major strategic shift: the complete re-platforming and delivery of a brand-new D2C platform.

You will be the primary authority on “how” things are built. You will have a seat at the table to influence the long-term technical roadmap, ensuring engineering excellence without the overhead of direct reports or administrative HR tasks.

Technical Requirements

• Python or Node.js: You should be comfortable architecting complex, scalable server-side logic.
• Full-Stack Awareness: A solid working knowledge of React and the modern JS ecosystem to ensure the entire platform is cohesive and performant.
• E-commerce & Spotify (or similar)
• Architectural Vision: Proven experience taking a project from initial design through to delivery, making the high-level decisions on CI/CD, security, and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• System Design: Lead the architectural design for the re-platforming of core applications, moving away from legacy constraints.
• Engineering Standards: Act as the “North Star” for the team, establishing best practices in clean code, comprehensive testing, and performance optimization.
• Hands-on Delivery: Remain active in the codebase, delivering high-quality, resilient features across the stack.
• Strategic Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders and the broader engineering group to align technical decisions with the global music brand’s commercial goals.
• Mentorship by Example: Foster a culture of continuous learning through high-level code reviews and pair programming.
