Java Software Engineer

Overview

I’m currently supporting a leading Bank in their search for an experienced Java Engineer to join their flagship digital platform.

The system is built in Java on AWS with a strong focus on automation and you’ll be working in an agile feature team, responsible for the full life cycle development and constant evolution of their core platform, from gathering requirements and design, to testing and deployment.

There is a large and consistently growing book of work across multiple work streams using cutting edge technology and this is a great opportunity to work alongside a well-established team of talented Engineers in a company that have a strong emphasis on upskilling and a knowledge sharing culture.

Responsibilities

• Work in an agile feature team responsible for the full life cycle development and evolution of the core platform, from gathering requirements and design to testing and deployment.
• Contribute to the automation-focused development of the platform and ensure ongoing improvement of delivery processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software on AWS-based infrastructure.

Requirements

• Strong engineering mindset with ability to solve complex problems using technology
• Strong understanding of Java and Microservices
• Strong testing experience (TDD) using Junit
• Knowledge of agile delivery methods such as CI/CD
• Experience dealing with highly scalable systems with high throughput
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Containers with be beneficial
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
