Role Purpose
The Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving the growth of Gamechanger calf sales by developing new business opportunities, expanding market presence, and strengthening relationships with existing customers. This role requires a proactive, commercially focused individual who can identify opportunities, convert leads, and represent the business professionally at industry events and trade shows.
Key Responsibilities
- New Business Development
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities to grow Gamechanger calf sales.
- Build a strong pipeline of prospective customers through targeted outreach, networking, and market engagement.
- Conduct on‑farm visits, presentations, and product demonstrations to promote the Gamechanger offering.
- Analyse regional trends and competitor activity to maximise market penetration.
- Account Management
- Manage and develop relationships with existing customers to maintain retention and support long‑term growth.
- Provide ongoing support, advice, and solutions to ensure customers receive maximum value from the Gamechanger proposition.
- Work closely with internal teams to resolve customer issues and ensure a seamless service experience.
- Regularly review account performance, identify opportunities for upselling or cross‑selling, and implement tailored growth plans.
- Communicate with our internal finance department and external finance provider to manage debt of customers accounts.
- Representation at Shows & Trade Events
- Represent the business at agricultural shows, industry events, open days, and trade exhibitions.
- Act as an ambassador for the Gamechanger brand, delivering consistent and professional messaging.
- Build strong networks with industry stakeholders, producers, and partners.
- Gather market insights and feedback to support continuous product and service improvement.
- Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, customer interactions, and pipeline development using our CRM platform.
- Report regularly on progress on targets, market conditions, and competitor developments.
- Contribute to sales forecasting and planning of the area.
Personal Specification
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong sales background with proven success in business development or account management, ideally within agriculture or livestock sectors.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage own diary, and prioritise workload effectively.
- Confident presenting to groups and representing the business at events.
- Commercially aware with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively.
