CRO Account Manager
Industry: E-commerce
Location: Remote (UK, GMT hours 9–5)
Agency: Growth Needle
Type: Full-time
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Role Overview
We’re hiring a high-calibre CRO Account Manager to lead client relationships and own CRO strategy across ambitious eCommerce and Shopify brands.
This role is for someone who is exceptional in two areas:
- CRO thinking and execution: data analysis, website analysis, audits, strategy, experimentation, and identifying what will actually move performance
- Client leadership: building trust quickly, leading calls with confidence, handling pressure well, and managing accounts with clarity and authority
This is not a passive account management role. You need to be commercially sharp, analytically strong, and highly charismatic and capable with clients.
You will sit at the centre of client strategy and delivery, working across clients, designers, and developers to turn insight into clear priorities and high-quality execution.
What You’ll Own
1) Client Leadership
- Be the primary point of contact for key accounts
- Lead client calls with confidence, structure, and authority
- Build trust through strong communication, reliability, and clear thinking
- Manage expectations, push back when needed, and protect quality
- Keep clients aligned, informed, and confident at all times
2) CRO Analysis, Audits & Strategy
- Conduct high-quality CRO analysis across GA4, Shopify data, user behaviour, and website experience
- Audit websites and funnels to identify friction, missed opportunities, weak messaging, and conversion blockers
- Turn insights into clear priorities, test ideas, and strategic roadmaps
- Plan experiments and site improvements tied to CVR, AOV, LTV, and overall funnel performance
- Clearly explain what matters, why it matters, and what should happen next
3)Delivery & Leadership
- Lead designers and developers across active accounts
- Run delivery in ClickUp: scoping, prioritisation, timelines, and accountability
- Write excellent briefs for designers and developers
- QA output to ensure work is accurate, polished, and aligned with CRO goals
- Keep projects moving fast and keep scope under control
Soft Skills (Non-Negotiable)
We care about character as much as capability. The right person is:
- Charismatic and confident on calls: builds trust quickly with clients
- An exceptional communicator: clear, concise, and professional in both written and spoken English; keeps clients aligned, informed, and confident at all times; explains complex ideas simply and confidently
- Highly organised: structured thinking, strong planning, and zero dropped balls
- Calm under pressure: handles ambiguity, urgency, and client tension professionally
- High ownership: takes responsibility, follows through, and closes loops
- Naturally leadership-minded: sets standards and pushes work forward
- Direct and honest: can say no, frame trade-offs, and protect quality
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in eCommerce, Shopify, or websites
- 2+ years of hands-on CRO experience
- 2+ years of account management experience in an agency or similar environment
- Strong ability in data analysis, website analysis, CRO audits, and experimentation strategy
- Strong understanding of CVR, AOV, LTV, funnel performance, and conversion psychology
- Experience leading designers and developers
- Excellent briefing, project management, and QA skills
- Strong presence and confidence in client-facing settings
